A Prayer for Bishop Andrew  

God of our hope and salvation,
we thank you for Andrew, our brother in Christ and father in God:
for his discipleship and leadership,
and for his love and care of our diocese.
At this time of his illness,
we pray that you would visit him with your healing love,
comfort and strengthen him with your Holy Spirit,
and protect him and his family with your holy angels.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
Amen.  

A Prayer for the Diocese  

Heavenly Father,
whose son Jesus Christ came to bring light and life to the world,
we thank you for your people in the churches, schools, chaplaincies and communities across the Diocese of Guildford,
and for all the ways in which we see you transforming church and transforming lives.
At this time of deep sadness and uncertainty, we ask you to give us
light that shines in the darkness
life that overcomes death,
and hope that enables us to face the future.
Help us to glimpse your eternal glory as we journey together
In the name of Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord.

A Prayer for Bishop Paul  

Almighty God,
we pray for all those who lead your people,
and especially for Bishop Paul as he takes leadership in our diocese.
We pray that each day you would
open his eyes to see your glory,
strengthen his hands to do you will,
and fill him with your Holy Spirit,
that he may know your wisdom and grace.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
