Our Village

St. James’ Church lies in the heart of Abinger Common, a small, rural community. Ancestral links can be found in many households and the history of events and organisations in our village creates a great sense of heritage here. The parish of Abinger includes Abinger Common, Abinger Hammer, Abinger Bottom, part of Friday Street.

Abinger Nursery is sited here and Belmont School is also based at the edge of our village. Other active organisations in the area include the Medieval Fair Committee, The Evelyn Hall, the Abinger Hatch pub, Abinger and Wotton Women’s Institute, Abinger Sports Club and Holmbury Choral Society.
