It is with huge sadness that we learnt of the death of her Majesty, Queen
Elizabeth, yesterday.
It is difficult to think of a life more dedicated and devoted to others. She
prayed at the beginning of her reign for the help of God to fulfil all that
was asked of her, and her prayer was answered in full.
Her clear faith was a beacon to us all and we give thanks for her life and
unstinting service, we rightly mourn her passing and we celebrate her life.
Her death will affect us profoundly and we will all have treasured memories
or her impact on our lives.
Our prayers are now with our new King, Charles III and with the whole
family.
Our churches will be open, as usual throughout the week, so do please come
and use them to reflect and remember if you would find that helpful.
Books of condolence will be available in due course.
Here is an online link to the Book of Condolence if you would like to add
your own personal message https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-her-majesty-queen.
Our service pattern will reflect this moment in our history so please keep
an eye on our website and I will also email you https://www.stjameschurchabinger.org/Services.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family and all who loved her
throughout the world.
Support us O Lord, all the day long of this troublous life, until the
shadows lengthen and the evening comes, the busy world is hushed, the fever
of life is over and our work is done; then Lord, in your mercy, grant us
safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at the last, through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
With love and prayers
