Reflections from the Rectory - December 2025

I believe in ‘wintering’. Plants and animals don’t fight the winter; they don’t pretend it’s not happening and attempt to carry on living the same lives that they lived in the summer. They prepare. They adapt. They perform extraordinary acts of metamorphosis to get them through. They hunka down, hibernate and store fat to see them through – I know the feeling!

As we gear up for Christmas and all the festivities let us be gentle with ourselves. It is also a time of reflection and recuperation as we turn the corner into January. A time for putting the house in order and doing those deeply unfashionable things; slowing down, letting your spare time expand, getting enough sleep and resting.

So however you are spending your December and January I wish you all peace, joy, a full tummy and deep rest and hope to see you at one of our many services over the Christmas period!

With love

Rev’d Kia 😊
