Memorial: Sacred to the memory of The Rev JSW Powell for 27 years rector of this parish and Rural dean. resigned 1877 and died at Brighton February 25 1881. His remains lie in a vault in this churchyard. Them that sleep in Jesus will God bring with him - 1 Thess 4.14. This tablet is erected by his parishoners and friends who valued his faithful ministry.
