Compassion is an international Christian child development and child advocacy ministry. Partnering with local churches, they are committed to the spiritual, economic, social and physical development of children living in extreme poverty in 26 countries, enabling them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. You can see more at http://www.compassionuk.org/.

In August 2011 a group from from St James' and Christ Church went to Uganda to visit some children sposored by some of the villagers. This Article from the Parish News (Setember 2011) gives a flavour of that trip.
